Eni Ghana and World Bank indication MoU on clean cooking

Accra (Ghana), 7 February 2020 – Eni Ghana together with World Bank finalized yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build up initiatives to promote access to enhanced domestic lumber gas cook stoves, causing paid down experience of unhealthy wood-smoke and reduced stress on the depletion of woodland resources. The initiatives will play a role in the us government of Ghana’s technique for ensuring universal usage of contemporary, neat and safe power sources by 2030, through the use of a pioneering cooperation model between a multilateral company plus the sector that is private.
Beneath the MoU Eni Ghana, using its lovers within the OCTP task Vitol Upstream Ghana together with Ghana nationwide Petroleum Corporation, will collaborate with all the World Bank in a pilot task become developed in 10 seaside communities into the Western area — namely Sanzule, Krisan, Eikwe, Bakanta, Atuabo, Asemda, Ngalekyi, Ngalekpole, Baku and Anokye into the Ellembelle region — for an overall total population estimated at about 13,000 people. The pilot task will gauge the many suitable technology and design for domestic wood gas cook stoves, plus the associated business structure ensuring their manufacturing and/or circulation in rural areas.
